Katsu curry and Wagamama Ramen and whilst their food menu leaves you spoilt for choice, the dessert menu always left a little to be desired. Well not anymore! They have recently revamped their dessert menu and I was on hand to try all the goodies and give my 'professional' opinion...because a dessert addict is a profession isn't it?!? :)
The new menu is filled with so many goodies that we couldn't possibly try them all but we all ordered a dessert and tried everything everyone ordered. It was a great way to do it as it meant that we tried such a huge range of goodies. First up for the taste test was Spiced Mango and Coconut Parfait....
This little tower of joy was just incredible. I really didn't know what to expect as spiced mango sounded a bit strange but I knew that I liked coconut so just rolled with it. This dessert totally exceeded my expectations and the puffed quinoa that is on the top of this is just amazing!! I would seriously eat that with milk like cocopops if I could!
Next up we tried both of the sorbets that have joined the menu...
These were both really nice but a special mention has to go to the lemon grass and lime sorbet. This tasted just like those little ice balls that you used to get from the ice cream man that came in a pot..know what I'm talking about?? Probably not but they taste amazing and so does this sorbet. The next thing we tried was something that I was a little dubious of as I have never had fig before but it was actually pretty scrummy...The Fig and Coconut Cheesecake.
This was so yummy. It was light and refreshing which I found really nice in a cheesecake and the caramelised sesame seeds where soooo good! Next up, we had ice cream which is one of my faves!
In the top photo we have the chocolate and scichimi ice cream which is topped with a chocolate sauce and caramelised sesame seeds. This ice cream was a real surprise. When I first put it in my mouth it was just like a really yummy chocolate ice cream. What I wasn't expecting was the gentle heat that you could feel once you'd finished your mouth full. It was strangely pleasant and I would definitely have it again. In the second photo you have my choice of dessert..Salted caramel ice cream. I ordered this as, to me, the mark of a good dessert menu is if the restaurant can get salted caramel ice cream right and Wagamamas did! This ice cream had a chilli toffee and ginger sauce that was so wonderful. It would have been my fave dessert if it wasn't for this last one. Ladies and gentlemen...I give to you Wagamamas Chocolate Layer Cake!
Don't tell my hubby this but I am pretty sure that I love this dessert more than him...Okay I jest but it is pretty damn close! The only way I can describe this dessert is that it is like a melty, chocolatey, nutty, sprinkley, gooey, scrummy plate of wonderfulness!!! You NEED to go to Wagamamas to try this!!! I can promise you that it will not disappoint.
So that was our taster session at Wag
amamas at Intu Lakeside and it was a massive thumbs up from me. The dessert menu is filled with so many yummy items and I cannot wait for my next visit do I can try some more...and maybe have another slice of layer cake! :) Thank you so much to Wagamamas at Intu Lakeside for having me along to try out their new menu and I can't wait to come back!!
best
ReplyDeleteAll these foods and desserts are familiar to me and I know about the taste very well also I'll suggest baklava for everyone. And baklava with pistachios is one of the best dessert item among all the desserts in the world.
