Working Mothers... I salute you!!! | Blog

I class myself as a part time working mum. I work 3 days a week and then get 2 wonderful days just me and pickle and then another 2 glorious days with hubby joining us. I have ample time to see friends, keep on top of house work, keep my blog stuff up to date... it really is a perfect set up for me and I love it. The past 2 weeks have seen a change in my working hours and I've ended up working 4 days a week. I really didn't think the extra day would make much difference but MY GOD it has and it has made me realise that I really don't know how full time working mums do it!!!

I feel as though for the past two weeks I've been going to work, coming home, cleaning, sorting the boy and then collapsing on the sofa. My blog is unloved, my social media has tumble weeds blowing though it and I have a list of things I want to get done longer than my arm. Silly things like wrap Pickles birthday presents, change the beds and get my nails done. All things that don't need to be done with any urgency but things that I really want to do but just haven't had the time or energy to do.
I don't think it helps that hubby has been away for 2/3 nights a week for the past 3 weeks which has meant I've been flying solo for almost half the week. That has been hard as usually when I get home from work hubby will play with Pickle whilst I sort dinner, pack bags for the next day and do washing etc but I haven't had that support. It's felt like I'm juggling loads of plates and praying that one of them doesn't fall off. It's a busy time of year for us too as it's Pickles birthday so we have his party tomorrow, his birthday next week, a trip away in a couple of weeks... all lovely things but all things that need preparation and planning and it's finding the TIME to do it all!

But full time working mums plan birthday parties... full time working mums have clean clothes and tidy houses...full time working mums are able to run very successful blogs... full time working mums take their children to soft play and swimming...full time working mums juggle all their plates in less time than I do and I think they are bloody amazing!!! I will happily hold my hands up and say I can't do it! I'm now playing catch up with myself to get everything done before Pickles party and I'm questioning how the hell these supermums do it! Maybe if I had no option but to be a full time working mum then I would work out how to do it and it would make sense but for now all I will say is Full time working mums... I salute you and you are AMAZING!!!!!!

I'm now off to stuff party bags, go buy food for tomorrow, clean my house and squeeze in soft play somewhere 😂
