Advent Calendar's for all the Family | AD

Note: some of these calendars have been sent to us for the purpose of this review but all opinions are honest and my own

December is fast approaching and one of my favourite things about the last month of the year is advent! When I was little my Nan used to have this fabric Christmas tree that had 24 little felt pockets and inside each one used to be a little treat for each day. It would be  little nail varnish or a chocolate or something and it was the most exciting thing!! As much as I would love to do something like this for the boys, it just isn't possible as I'd need to do two as they'd argue and I don't have the time to find all the stuff to put in it and then wrap them all up etc.

That's why I love finding them an advent calendar that they will really enjoy and be excited about. Something that isn't chocolate as they get enough of that but something that has bits in that they can collect and play with. It isn't just the boys that we do advent calender's for...I may be 30 but I still love getting an advent calendar and I can't leave hubs out so he gets one too. We even get our little Maisie dog an advent calendar too! Yes I may be a bit crazy but I love it! I thought I'd share the advent calendars we are having this year to help if you don't know which ones to look into:

Lindt Lindor Advent Calendar

We were very kindly sent this scrummy calendar from the brand new Lindt store in Braintree shopping village and I love it!! Lindt chocolate screams Christmas to me and this calendar samples some of the best Lindt Lindor flavours around. The Lindt store at Braintree shopping village has this calendar available with an outlet price tag too so it's a luxury calendar without the huge price tag!

Playmobil 1.2.3 Advent Calendar - Christmas in the Forest

This is the perfect advent calendar for Smidge this year and I think he is going to love it! Playmobil is always a hit with kids but traditional playmobil sets can have small parts that aren't suitable for younger toddler and children BUT this calendar is perfect for those 18 months plus. With no small parts, this traditional Christmas themed calendar features chunky parts that toddlers can play with easily and safely. I think Smidge is going to love feeling grown up like his brother but I love that I know he will be safe and there aren't any small parts.

Hot Wheels Advent Calendar

Pickle is at the age where he loves hot wheels and that is why this calendar is perfect for him! It comes with 8 festive themed hot wheel cars and sixteen accessories and I love that everything can be added to his existing hot wheels collection meaning that he can get some good use out of it. The front of the calendar also folds out and forms a track so your little one can test out their new cars. I'm pretty sure this is going to be a hit this December and a lot more worth while than a chocolate calendar.

Mindfulness Advent Calendar

I stumbled across this slightly less traditional advent calendar on Amazon and instantly fell in love with the idea of it. Christmas can sometimes be so overwhelming, especially for us Mums who are constantly trying to organise everything and make sure everyone else is happy. I t can be so easy to forget that Christmas is for us too. That is why this advent calendar is great to gain a bit of perspective and to help relieve stress and anxiety. The calendar is actually a car filled with 24 prompt cards with a different task for each day to help with mindfulness. It's so sweet and so simple and I love it!

  1. I love the idea of the mindfulness one but would miss being able to eat chocolate in the morning!
