Things to do with kids in Javea, Spain | Collaboration

Note: this is a collaborative post

It’s that time of year where it’s cold, dark and everyone is thinking about getting their summer holidays booked and jetting off to sunnier, warmer places. We’ve been looking around at where we want to head to this year after holidaying in the U.K last year. We wanted to go somewhere nice and hot that we could get to on a plane as Pickle really wants to go on one, but we wanted somewhere that wasn’t going to be too long of a journey. After doing a lot of research we decided that Spain would be a great place to go. But where in Spain? It’s a pretty big place after all! We’ve been to a few of the typical holiday destinations such as Marbella and Costa Brava but this year we fancied something a little different. When I was looking I came across called Javea which is on the Costa Blanca between Valencia and Alicante. Thanks to the MontgĆ³ mountain barrier that surrounds this historic town, it is protected from continental winds meaning it stays mild for most of the year. In the height of summer when it can reach up to 27 degree, the town benefits from general coastal breezes to take the edge off the heat. Javea has beautiful sandy beaches, heavenly coves and historic buildings and parks just to name a few which makes it sound like the perfect destination to me. But what is there to do for kids as sometimes, as lovely as these places can be, it can be a little boring for children who just want some fun and entertainment.

Well firstly, if you get yourself one of the gorgeous villas in Javea like the ones available through Clickstay then you are guaranteed to have ways to keep the kids entertained. Finding the perfect place to stay when you go on holiday is, in my opinion, one of the most important things. Accommodation is always the second thing I look at once we’ve picked a destination for our holiday because when we go away I want to know that we are going to be staying somewhere that is safe, clean, comfortable and has the facilities we will need. Clickstay is a holiday home and travel company who are there to help you find the perfect place to stay when you go away.  They have more than 80,000 self catering villas, holiday apartments and lettings world wide so you are spoilt for choice. If you have your heart set on Spain then they have over 25000 rentals available in Spain and over 4000 in Majorca. There are so many Javea Villas on offer so there really is something for everyone. From prime locations and private pools to snooker tables and BBQs. You could pretty much stay in the villa for your holiday and still have an incredible time. The best thing about Clickstay isn’t just the incredible properties in prime locations, it’s the fact that it is so easy to book with them! Their website is super easy to navigate and lets you filter search results depending on what you are looking for. But, if you do have any trouble then they have helpful advisors available over the phone to guide you and help you book your dream accommodation. It’s just brilliant and so easy!! But, as you’ll know if you are a parent, sometimes you just need to get out with the kids for a change of scenery and luckily Javea has that covered too.

There is the Algar Dino Park which is a fun and educational attraction set across huge botanical and cactus gardens. The park has over 30 animatronic dinosaurs as well as a 3D cinema and a nature trail. A must has for any dino loving kiddies. If you fancy seeing some real animals, then you can always head to BIOPARCValencia which is a great day out for the whole family. This attraction is described as a next generation zoo where visitors are immersed in the natural habitat of the animals. It’s really one not to be missed.

If animals aren’t your think then why not head over to the Valor Chocolate Factory and Museum? With an audio-visual presentation, a walk through the museum and chocolate tasting in the gift shop (I am sold!!), this is more aimed at slightly older children but would still make a great family day out. If you are looking for something for younger children and babies, then you can wear them out over at Krazy Kids Town in La Nucia. This vibrant large indoor soft play area is suitable for children from ages 0-12 and has an onsite cafeteria so you can chill out with a coffee whilst the little ones let off some steam.
So there you have it, Javea... the place for all the family to holiday this summer. It really does have something for everyone and will be a trip that will leave you with memories to last a life time. Have you ever been to Javea before? What did you think? Let me know in the comments!
