Playtime with Smoby | Review

Note: These items were sent to us for the purpose of this review but all opinions are honest and our own.

Technology is a way of life for all of us now and whilst it is important for our children to learn how to use iPads and the like, I have always placed a large emphasis on physical play. My motto for parenting has always been that my boys can have and use technology as long as they do not forget to use their imagination and play with actual toys. Luckily, they love to play, and Smidge is at an age now were imaginative play is his favourite thing to do. When we were asked if we would like to receive a couple of items from Smoby I jumped at the chance as I knew that Smidge would love them, and I wasn’t wrong.

Smoby is historically one of the most famous toy brands around and has been trusted for generations. You will mainly see their play houses and slides dotted around home and play groups around the UK but they also do so much more – from kitchens and workbenches to bikes and trikes, the Smoby toy range is safe, well made and brings years of fun to your children.

The first item we were sent was this incredible Smoby Supermarket Playset. This is the kind of thing that my childhood dreams were made of and being able to play with it with my children is amazing! This supermarket has everything you could need to play shop. Play food, a trolley, a realistic light up scanner, a working calculator, a till, a little play microphone…the list is endless!

This supermarket does require some assembly but it was pretty straight forward to put together (I managed to do it on my own in about 15 minutes so it would probably take the average person about 5!) and once it as put together I was seriously impressed at how sturdy it was. The Smoby supermarket is available from Amazon for an amazing price of just £59.99!

The other item that we received was the Smoby Push Along Toddler Trike which is also from Amazon priced at £94.99. I have also loved trikes for the boys and when Pickle was younger, he had one that we had passed down to Smidge but this new trike from Smoby is seriously upgraded! My favourite thing about this trike is the longevity of it. It can be used from just 10 months old and can be adapted as your child grows so it can be used until they are 5. For smaller children there are straps to keep them safe, a removable safety ring and the option to lock the peddles on the front wheels to avoid your little one’s feet getting bashed. The trike also comes with a removable parent handle meaning that whilst your child is younger you can push and steer them whilst they are learning to ride. As they grow the trike adapts into a fully independent trike so that your little one can ride all by themselves. Another thing I love about this trike is that not only does it come with a large bucket space at the back for anything you need to take out with you, it also has a bag with a strap that easily slides on and off the trike for things like your purse or phone. I don’t think I could ask for anything more from a trike and I have been seriously impressed by the quality and functions of the Smoby Push Along Toddler Trike.

Overall, I am so impressed with these toys from Smoby. They are great quality for such a reasonable price. You can find them on Amazon and other toy retailers.
